01.20.09 - Inauguration Day.  Best way to spend it in my opinion was out enjoying the ocean.  Transfer of power in D.C.  Observance of power in L.J.

11.10.08 - Scripps.  Been a long time since I surfed Scripps.  And had never shot it until now.  Out with a crew of friends.  Pretty fun but a little backed off.  Fiddled with the image processing so the colors are bit more saturated as well some tweaking with a “clarity” feature which has an interesting look to it.  That’s the beauty of shooting raw.

Walked down to LJ shores and noticed “a scene” down by the lifeguard tower. XList was being shot so I snapped a few.

11.03.08 - Big Rock. Conditions were a little funktified but once the waves broke over the reef there were some nice barrels. Ripping crew out and a nice clean-up set that nailed everybody.  Have to get an 8 gig card.  My 4 gig ran out!

A challenge I’m finding with shooting Big Rock is that a lot of the time I’m shooting into the sun so the lighting conditions aren’t ideal but those barrels will keep me coming back.

10.25.08 - Windansea.  Super clean conditions.  Shot between 9-11am and it was on.  Beautiful skies, plenty of people out to shoot.  Definitely a fun one today.  Ended up with a lot of textures and screensaver type stuff.

10.10.08 - Big Rock, La Jolla.  Cloudy morning, some decent waves. Switched the camera around with some buddies and got in a shot or two myself.

9.27.08 - Scripps. Another personal session test with some friends.  Small surf but hanging with their sons.  Make sure your wives see this one.

9.20.08 - LJ Shores, Steve Jenks personal session with slideshow.  Test shoot with some cornball text I slapped in there.  Not typical.  Personal sessions are mostly from the water as is most of what I do here on waterportraits.com.  I prefer to shoot that unique angle and find that most like it as well.

9.19.08 - Big Rock, La Jolla.  First halfway serious water shoot in San Diego.  Shot years ago in Hawaii so I’m bringing it back to the states.  Been fun to regularly get in the water again.
